Having moved away from the Cleveland area 20 years ago, I thought I’d escaped Michael Stanley and his cult like following, but no, The Michael Stanley Band is performing at a local festival here.
I actually LIKE Michael Stanley (or did back when I was a devoted KSHE listener), but not enough to pay $20 for the privilege of seeing them again.
Truth be told, Michael Stanley isn’t so terrible. But he never deserved the deity like status attributed to him by his Cleveland fan base.
Thank you! I was at the show Friday Night and MSB couldn’t have been worse! Maybe it was being sandwiched between Mama’s Pride Unplugged and Kansas, but I don’t think so. He’s a Bruce Springsteen wannabe with heavy metal guitar solos. Ever see “Eddie and the Cruisers”? I’ve seen hundreds of live shows in my life but never one worse than the MSB performance Friday.
