Fancy Restaurant Food

RE that last repost, years ago I tried to explain to someone that what you're paying for in a fancy restaurant is generally not the food itself, which is mostly the same as you'd get anywhere, but the skill of the staff–chefs, watiers, etc. This person was LIVID.

HOW could I even SAY something like that, of COURSE the food was not the same as from anywhere else! All I'd wanted was to draw attention to how important labor and skill was, but apparently they thought Fancy Restaurant food came from the Not Poor dimension or something.
